INFORMATION ABOUT THE COLLECTION
 

The collection consists of two documents:  an eighteen-page holograph manuscript by Dr. H. E. Buchanan, father of John A. Buchanan, and a seven-page computer printout entitled H.E.B.'s Cane Hill Story.

Herbert Earle Buchanan (1881-1973) was descended from early settlers of Cane Hill, Washington County.  See also the Herbert Earle Buchanan Family Papers, MS B85.  See also the Fontaine Richard Earle Letters, MC 192.

John A. Buchanan donated the Buchanan Family History collection to the University of Arkansas Libraries on February 3, 1999.

Folder 2:  Computer printout.  H.E.B.'s Cane Hill Story.  A note at the end states that the paper was presented in 1997 "by Jorie Buchanan, daughter-in-law of Dr. Herbert E. Buchanan, the writer."
