Cultural Presentations Program
Boxes 47-102
Files pertain to the Cultural Presentations Program, inaugurated in
1954 under the President's Emergency Fund for International Affairs and
continued in 1956 under Public Law 860 on a permanent basis. Much
of the material is associated with tour files of American performing artistic
and athletic groups and figures. The files are arranged alphabetically
by name of group or artist. Other files concern the historical background
of the program and include correspondence, agenda, and minutes of the Advisory
Committee on the Arts and advisory panels on music, dance, and theater.
The materials are organized by committee or panel and then arranged chronologically
by date of committee or panel meeting. The remaining files pertain
to the President's Emergency Fund for International Affairs. Arranged
