The club held its first meeting on June 18, 1930.  Monthly meetings were held from September through May and included a Christmas Social.  The Perennial Garden Club sponsored special projects including the beautification of Arkansas Avenue bordered by the University of Arkansas, and the Veterans' Administration Hospital grounds.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE COLLECTION

Doris Murry of Fayetteville, Arkansas, president of the Perennial Garden Club, donated the organization's papers to Special Collections on December 18, 1988.  The supplementary papers to this collection were donated to  Special Collections by Vera G. Hall of Fayetteville, Arkansas on November 11, 1992.

The records contain minutes, membership lists, financial reports, program booklets, photographs, and clippings.  The supplementary papers consist of minutes of the meetings, yearbooks, and photographs.
