Series III.  Index to Correspondence

This index combines the correspondence described in the Catalogue of Fletcher's incoming and outgoing correspondence produced by Thomas Douglass in 1965 and in the Supplement created in the Division for additions to the collection since then.  The paper finding aids in the Division will generally provide the dates of these additions.  Most items in the collection are either handwritten or typed letters, original or photographic reproductions. But it also includes postcards, notes, telegrams, and greeting cards.

The index indicates the name of the correspondent, the number of items, and the years in which they were written. The number includes, in some cases, letters to or from Charlie May Fletcher having some bearing on her husband. Disclaimer: A significant portion of the collection is on microfilm. Letters on film are included in the entries in this index, but because of copyright considerations it is not possible to provide copies of these. Similarly, the Division does not hold the copyright to some incoming correspondence in the collection.  For further particulars, contact the Division with your request. The archivist of the Fletcher collections is Tim Nutt (timn@uark.edu).

N.B. Special Collections also holds a collection of 96 items under the title John Gould Fletcher Supplementary Papers, ca. 1902 ... 1973 and n.d. The correspondents in that collection are integrated into this index.
