INFORMATION ABOUT THE COLLECTION
Lillie Howell Branson of Uniontown (Crawford County), Arkansas donated the papers of her mother, the late Lula Jane Howell, to Special Collections on March 3, 1987.
These papers were collected both as a family record and as a chronicle of Uniontown. They contain both family papers and photographs and materials pertaining to the Uniontown community.
The Lula Jane Howell Papers contain correspondence, the diary of Lula Jane (Comstock) Howell, a history of the community of Uniontown, a history of the Poage (spelled variously "Poague")family by Lula (Lucinda) Jane Poage Howell, and a collection of photographs.
Prepared by Janet G. Tucker, Special Collections Division, University of Arkansas Libraries, Fayetteville, Arkansas, in June 1988.
