Finding Aids to the Manuscript Collections


A finding aid is a document prepared by the archival staff to help researchers understand the contents of a manuscript collection. It may be an inventory, a chronological list, or some other description. The majority of manuscript collections in the department are described in some fashion on this website. However, at present, some collections are accessible only through typewritten finding aids in the Special Collections reading room. As time and resources permit, these are being converted to electronic format and published at this site. Meanwhile, interested researchers should contact the department for further information about collections.
