Yager Residence
Residence of Dr. Yager, Montclair, NJ

Project Description: cruciform plan of open and closed spaces; covered porch all around; strict           10' and 12' bays; early example of large, simple, open planning
M-29: 3 separate sets of working drawings: December 1955: 2-storey, open central space, closed rooms each side, large gable roof, terrace and screened porch at rear (similar to usual large central space plan except 2 separate stories); May 1956: similar, but with full-width screened porch, open below; April 1958: more open 2nd floor, 1st floor semi-recessed into site (many sketches including EDS' love of formal site planning: courts, tree rows, interior sketch showing pyramidal ceiling and skylight by EDS; forerunner of Celanese, Hobbs and Paterno houses
