Arkansas K-12 Distance Learning Curriculum Portal

Funded by the Arkansas Dept. of Education and Act 2325 of 2005, this site provides a portal to Arkansas K-12 Content Provider Websites. Includes documents explaining distance education in the state, hosts online classrooms, news, discussion boards, podcasts, and links to other distance education sites in Arkansas. Open to any elementary through secondary subject areas. Content is for students, teachers, and administrators.

Arkansas Virtual High School
Host: Arkansas Department of Education
AVHS is a project funded by the Arkansas Dept. of Education to provide an online alternative learning environment for students with scheduling conflicts, those that are homebound, and other special circumstances. The curriculum included is for grades 9-12. Affiliate Schools provide monitoring of participating students and technical assistance.

Teach Arkansas

The Non-Traditional Licensure Progrman (NTLP) allows candidates who hold a bachelor's degree and meet other criteria to become certified teachers. Classes are offered in the summer and on Saturdays in a two-year program. The course includes a mentoring component, portfolio development, teaching in accredited schools, and pre-and post program assessments.
