Agriculture in the Classroom
Host: Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation
Farm Bureaus "monitor government activity, promote new laws and regulations, initiate and support community activities, provide economic services, encourage fellowship within communities." Their Agriculture in the Classroom program uses teachers and farmers to help students understand more about farming and its part in the production of our food and clothing. Resources include videos, speakers, activity books, contests, and project information. Programs include, for example, snacks for children, food for families, safety education, college scholarships, animal husbandry, crops. Site has an annotated bibliography of Ag-Related Children's Books.

Arkansas Archeological Survey
Host: University of Arkansas System
"The Survey is responsible for discovering, protecting, developing, interpreting, and caring for Arkansas' prehistoric and historic archeological resources..." The website contains information about archeology in the state, internships, research stations across the state, a catalog of publications, and links to Indians of Arkansas. The Arkansas Archeological Survey has produced a variety of materials to aid teachers in their instruction on Arkansas history and Native Americans, including teacher's packets, videos, slide sets, books, and exhibits.

Arkansas Arts Center
Host: Arkansas Arts Center
Located in historic MacArthur Park in Little Rock, houses art collections and hosts exhibits. An education section on the website announces workshops, has curriculum resources and activity guides for the collections and for the children's theatre productions. Online collections, circulating videos, and a touring artmobile are available. Their research library, noncirculating, can be searched through the Central Arkansas Library System online catalog. Departments include the Arkansas Museum of Art, the Decorative Arts Museum, the Museum School, the Children's Theatre and State Services.

Books for Arkansas Students' Education (BASE)
Host: Butler Center and Central Arkansas Library System
Describes a program to provide free books about Arkansas' natural, cultural, and political history to public high schools. Free resource for high schools. Schools are allotted books based on the economic need of their district. The books are distributed through the University of Arkansas Press.

Butler Center For Arkansas Studies
Host: Central Arkansas Library System
Created at CALS in 1997, the Butler Center "is dedicated to exploring, preserving, and interpreting the history of Arkansas." Education resources include lesson plans searchable by grade level, ADE curriculum frameworks, and resource content; The Encyclopedia of Arkansas History & Culture (free online), and Books for Arkansas Students Education (BASE, a free book program for public high schools in the state).
