Arkansas Archeological Survey

"The Survey is responsible for discovering, protecting, developing, interpreting, and caring for Arkansas' prehistoric and historic archeological resources..." The website contains information about archeology in the state, internships, research stations across the state, a catalog of publications, and links to Indians of Arkansas. The Arkansas Archeological Survey has produced a variety of materials to aid teachers in their instruction on Arkansas history and Native Americans, including teacher's packets, videos, slide sets, books, and exhibits.

Arkansas Association of Two-Year Colleges

Twenty-two Arkansas community colleges provide information to the public on their educational programs, career training, and continuing education. A WorkForce Training Consortium page has information about custom or prepackaged classes for various businesses and industries. The site includes lists of distance education courses from each institution and a directory of job openings.

Arkansas Space Grant Consortium
Host: University of Arkansas at Little Rock
The mission of the consortium is to promote the involvement of the state in NASA activities. Their plans include programs directed to K-12 schools and the public that increase awareness of NASA's mission and purpose. They sponsor aerospace lectures open to the public, undergraduate college scholarships, and continuing education programs for K-12 teachers.

Arkansas Virtual High School
Host: Arkansas Department of Education
AVHS is a project funded by the Arkansas Dept. of Education to provide an online alternative learning environment for students with scheduling conflicts, those that are homebound, and other special circumstances. The curriculum included is for grades 9-12. Affiliate Schools provide monitoring of participating students and technical assistance.

Brown Chair in Literacy Initiative

Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies (CAST)

CAST "focuses on research, education, outreach, and applications in geomatics, including GIS (geographic information systems), geospatial analysis and modeling, high density survey, enterprise spatial databases, remote sensing, digital photogrammetry, geospatial interoperability and other areas." Sponsors tours, workshops, training sessions, to promote the transfer of geospatial technologies to schools, communities, government agencies, and the private sector.
