Agriculture in the Classroom
Host: Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation
Farm Bureaus "monitor government activity, promote new laws and regulations, initiate and support community activities, provide economic services, encourage fellowship within communities." Their Agriculture in the Classroom program uses teachers and farmers to help students understand more about farming and its part in the production of our food and clothing. Resources include videos, speakers, activity books, contests, and project information. Programs include, for example, snacks for children, food for families, safety education, college scholarships, animal husbandry, crops. Site has an annotated bibliography of Ag-Related Children's Books.

Arkansas K-12 Distance Learning Curriculum Portal

Funded by the Arkansas Dept. of Education and Act 2325 of 2005, this site provides a portal to Arkansas K-12 Content Provider Websites. Includes documents explaining distance education in the state, hosts online classrooms, news, discussion boards, podcasts, and links to other distance education sites in Arkansas. Open to any elementary through secondary subject areas. Content is for students, teachers, and administrators.

“The mission of Economics Arkansas is to promote economic literacy and the economic-way of thinking to students in Arkansas by empowering educators to teach the fourth “r,” real life economics.” Teacher resources includes lessons correlated to the frameworks, videos, projects to participate in, in-service training for teachers, and financial grants for teachers. Hosts student contests such as the Stock Market Game and a poster contest. Arkansas has six university-based centers. Includes information on the Bessie B. Moore awards program for teachers and the Polly M. Jackson teacher certification program.
