The program is endorsed by the College Board and instructors who have extensive experience teaching AP or pre-AP classes will provide instruction for teachers in week-long summer institutes. | "Members of ACSS include elementary, middle and secondary, private and public, university professors and instructors, school administrators, and non-educational professionals who recognize the importance of a strong social studies background for our young citizens." The ACSS site includes information on the annual conference, lesson plans and class presentations plus links to national and state resources for social studies. There are special announcements for members, but most of the content and the list-serve are available to non-members also. The Council sponsors teacher award and offer small grants for teacher expenses. | |

| The AHPP identifies and preserves the state's historic resources. Their webpage offers numerous descriptions of sites to visit, tours, info on grant programs, and projects. A youth education component includes complete lesson plans for k-12 related historic sites in Arkansas, presentations, contests for students, and much more. The "site search" on the homepage accepts multiple words for searching and helps in exploring this extensive site. | |

| “The mission of Economics Arkansas is to promote economic literacy and the economic-way of thinking to students in Arkansas by empowering educators to teach the fourth “r,” real life economics.” Teacher resources includes lessons correlated to the frameworks, videos, projects to participate in, in-service training for teachers, and financial grants for teachers. Hosts student contests such as the Stock Market Game and a poster contest. Arkansas has six university-based centers. Includes information on the Bessie B. Moore awards program for teachers and the Polly M. Jackson teacher certification program. | |

| PhysTEC--Physics Teacher Education Coalition | |

| PhysTEC is an NSF supported coalition of physicists and physics teachers whose goal is to improve science teaching. The project builds relationships between physical science teachers, science departments, the education department, and the regional school systems. The coalition hosts teacher-in-residence programs and continuing education. Scholarships for future high school teachers are offered. | |

| UA Study Abroad and International Exchange | |

| This office "administers summer, semester and year long study abroad programs for UA students as well as exchanges between the UA & other Universities abroad." While exchange programs are directed to college students, incoming freshmen in the Fulbright College may want to apply for the Global Perspectives living communities.
