| Description: | American Film Scripts Online (AFSO) is an ongoing project to digitize and thoroughly index 1,000 film scripts, beginning with the silent classic, The Great Train Robbery in 1903 through recent releases such as Pi and Boogie Nights. The collection also includes undated or unproduced scripts from writers such Paul Schrader. American Film Scripts Online has been produced with the approval of The Writers Guild Foundation. A portion of the revenues generated by AFSO goes to the foundation. Film scripts are indexed by scene, character, topic, and author, with additional fields that allow searching by the ethnicity or gender of the author, by producers or studios, by characters' occupation and geographic location, and much more. |
