ProQuest Digital Dissertations Now includes Master's Theses

ProQuest Digital Dissertations is now ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Online.

What's in a name? First, the database now includes more than 70 Master's Theses from University of Arkansas graduate students. Theses selected for digitization include those that cover Arkansas topics or those that have been frequently requested.

Second, the database has a new interface, one familiar to many users of the popular ABI/Inform and ProQuest article databases. Some enhancements include:

  • Direct export to RefWorks bibliographic citation software
  • No wait to download full-text of dissertations and theses
  • Set up email alerts when new theses matching your search criteria are added to the database
  • Cross search the dissertations file with other ProQuest databases

Center for Research Libraries adds new Collections

Center for Research Libraries LogoThe Center for Research Libraries (CRL) is a centralized collection of scholarly research materials in all disciplines, owned by an international not-for-profit consortium of colleges, universities and libraries that makes available scholarly research resources to users everywhere. Its outstanding collections include more than 3.5 million volumes of research materials rarely held in North American libraries. CRL offers large collections of foreign dissertations, newspapers, and microfilm sets. Because the University Libraries have membership in CRL, University of Arkansas students, faculty, and staff may borrow these collections through Interlibrary Loan.

CRL members vote each year on what new collections should be purchased. This year, the following materials were purchased:
