The University Libraries have acquired the IEEE/IEE Electronic Library (IEL), the full-text database of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) publications. Previously, the University Libraries have subscribed only to selected journals in the IEEE database. The full IEL file provides coverage back to 1988, articles from all IEEE/IEE journals, conference proceedings, and standards. IEL provides libraries and researchers a single source to almost a third of the world's current electrical engineering and computer science literature. IEL includes:
- More than 750,000 documents from over 12,000 publications, including journals, conference proceedings, and IEEE Standards
- More than two million full-page PDF images, including all original charts, graphs, diagrams, photographs, and illustrative material
- More than 25,000 new pages per month
- Full text archives of IEEE and IEE publications from 1988 to the present
access to a subset of the INSPEC bibliographic and abstract database
New features in the IEL database include email alerts, "Forward Linking" (a sophisticated cited author search), and easy downloads into citation management software, such as EndNote.
The Current Index to Statistics is a bibliographic index to publications in statistics and related fields. References are drawn from 111 core journals that are fully indexed, non-core journals from which articles are selected that have statistical content, proceedings and edited books, and other sources. The Current Index to Statistics is a joint venture of the American Statistical Association and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics.

Many FirstSearch databases now allow you to download records directly into your EndNote citation management software.
The FirstSearch WorldCat databases provides links to "related subjects" and "related authors" for entire search sets. Users can also now rank searches by the number of library holdings attached to records in the database to more quickly display the items held most widely by libraries. This option brings the items with the most library holdings to the top of ranked results lists to help users more easily locate materials that may be available in their own library or a library near them.
