Use these tools to add a custom InfoLinks (library catalog) search box to your favorite browser.

Add InfoLinks to your Facebook Profile

Facebook pluginAdd the Libraries' Facebook application by navigating to our InfoLinks application page or, just type "InfoLinks" into the Application Search Tool on Facebook.

From the InfoLinks UA Library Search, you can search the catalog for books, videos, music, and more in the library catalog, for articles in JSTOR, or for whole print or online journals when you have a citation in hand.

Add InfoLinks to FireFox

Firefox Search Bar

Firefox version 2 makes use of the OPENSEARCH standard that allows you to incorporate many different search engines right into your browser bar.

You can choose different search options by holding down the arrow key.

 

Highlighted Search bar While viewing this page, you may notice that the Firefox search options arrow is highlighted. This means a new search option is available from this page.
Add InfoLinks Plugin Pull down the arrow key to see what new search engines are available for install. Choose to Add the FireFox Search University of Arkansas Library Catalog.
InfoLinks search in FireFox browser You now have the InfoLinks catalog search in your Firefox search options. Use this option to check the catalog from anywhere.

Add InfoLinks to Internet Explorer 7

Pull down the arrow key to see what new search engines are available for install.

Items highlighted with orange stars can be used while on this page.

If you wish to install the InfoLinks search for use on every page, click the Add Search Providers option and then choose the option for IE. .

Choose the Search Plugin for IE.
Add Dialog Box You'll see a dialog box asking if you would like to add the University of Arkansas catalog search. Click Add Provider.
IE Search toolbar You now have the InfoLinks catalog search in your Internet Explorer search options. Use this option to check the catalog from anywhere.

Google Toolbar Search

Google Tollbar logoThe Google Toolbar is a popular browser add-on for Internet Explorer and Firefox. The Toolbar lets you add custom search engines to your browser bar, send web pages to your cell phone with text messaging, share bookmarks with friends, and more.


 

Google Toolbar Search The Google toolbar comes with a number of default Google search engines, including the web (duh!), maps, images, news, and shopping.
Google Toolbar with InfoLinks Search Download our InfoLinks Toolbar Search to be able to search the library catalog from anywhere on the web instantly.
Google Search Box Use the InfoLinks button in two ways: in the search box, select the InfoLinks engine to type in terms to be searched in InfoLinks.
National Public Radio site Or, when viewing a name or title you'd like to check in our catalog, simply highlight the text you wish to search and click the flying pig icon on your Google Toolbar. InfoLinks will search for your terms for books, audio and video, or other materials containing those terms in the author, title, subject, or notes fields.

How to get to InfoLinks GoogleToolbar

Google Toolbar First, make sure that you have installed the Google Toolbar in your Internet Explorer or Firefox browser.

Then, Click this link.

A dialog box will appear, click Add.

That's it! The InfoLinks search box will be added both to your search engines and as a button to your toolbar.
