FDLP Centennial Celebration, Online Exhibit

The slide shown here is of a 1943 Newsmap, a weekly publication containing maps, posters, and photographic views illustrating Allied and enemy military situations and civilian activities during World War II, 1942-46. One side of the map is cartographic, and the other is informational. Dr. Seuss’s illustrations for this particular map supplement a lesson on malaria prevention.

The University of North Texas has an online collection of approximately 200 of these maps.
