Biographical Note

Sigma Alpha Iota, the international music fraternity for women, was founded on June 12, 1903 at the University School of Music, Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Sigma Omicron chapter at the University of Arkansas was founded November 30, 1925. The Fayetteville, Arkansas Alumnae Chapter, which is comprised of any Sigma Alpha Iota alumnae in the area, was chartered May 13, 1967. The fraternity is involved in various philanthropy projects that serve to better music and their communities.
