The Lost Roads Project

21 Broadsides, 1994-1996

Manuscript Collection 1391

INFORMATION ABOUT THE COLLECTION

C. D. Wright, a poet, a recipient of the Citation of Distinguished Alumni of the University of Arkansas, and a member of the Department of English, Brown University, donated a copy of her Lost Roads Project to the University Libraries on November 12, 1998.

The Lost Roads Project was organized by Wright to "provide Arkansas and its visitors with a prideful sense of what has been written" by Arkansas people. Subtitled "A Walk-in Book of Arkansas," the project was a traveling exhibit, 1994-1996, featuring 21 post-World War II Arkansas writers.  It consisted of photographs and printed excerpts of poetry and prose, with music, video, and crafts. Wright received a grant from the Reader's Digest - Lila Wallace Foundation in 1992 to finance the project, which was sponsored by the Center for Arkansas and Regional Studies at the University.

Processed by Ethel C. Simpson, Special Collections Division, University of Arkansas Libraries,
Fayetteville, Arkansas, in November 1998.
