About the Pine Bluff League of Women Voters

The League of Women Voters was founded in 1919 as a nonpartisan organization to inform the electorate and increase citizen participation in government. The Pine Bluff League of Women Voters was founded in 1952 by Mrs. Amy Quattlebaum, Mrs. John Rust, Mrs. Frank Williamson, Miss Mary Lena McCullogh, and other Pine Bluff and Jefferson County women. Like other leagues, this chapter focused on local social, economic, and political issues such as education, elections, the environment, housing, and planning. The Pine Bluff League of Women Voters has been inactive since 1983.
