Pocket
diary, 1863, written in pencil apparently by E. [D.?] Wilson
in the first of the year. Account of his experiences in Arkansas
near DeValls Bluff and Helena, where he served as a supply
clerk, and his return to Grand Rapids, Michigan. Other pages
contain records of expenses and other financial information,
especially a page where expenses are recorded relating to
the return home of Wilson and Bill, a Negro he brought back
with him to Michigan.
The
diary was purchased by the University of Arkansas Libraries
in July 2004.
