Department Mission To implement and maintain an optimal computing environment for the
University Libraries, supporting both general patron use and staff applications.
To integrate emerging technologies that improve patron and staff access
to electronic information. This will be achieved by:

Managing and maintaining the InfoLinks/Millennium integrated Library
Management System, incorporating documentation & training for new
modules & releases.

Maintaining existing hardware and software, and supporting a consistent
library-wide plan for upgrading computing platforms.
·
Investigating emerging technologies and software applications, with
particular attention to library applications.
·
Maintaining and improving server applications.
·
Creating a library Intranet for problem tracking & administrative
reports.
·
Performing preventative hardware and software maintenance and troubleshooting.
·
Coordinating library staff training to support established competencies
required by the library. · Providing technical support and advice for grant initiatives.
