Library faculty and staff have access to personal Web site accounts where they can post information about their publications, service activities, and leisure pursuits. Information about and guidelines for personal Web pages can be found on the campus University Information Technology Services (UITS) site at http://uits.uark.edu/web/index.htm. In addition, personal Web page developers may also wish to consult the library style guidelines posted at: http://libinfo.uark.edu/webdev/style.asp In addition to following the campus policies for all Web developers (http://www.uark.edu/compserv/npp/policies/index.html), authors of personal Web pages should not use the library emblem for their page, nor should they make use of the phrase "University of Arkansas Libraries” as a header or footer, or any other text or motif that might suggest that a personal page is part of the general University Libraries’ Web site. The Web Development Committee encourages library faculty and staff to submit any handouts, slide presentations, or other materials used in their library classes for publication on the library Web site. In some cases, the Libraries' Web site will link to a personal Web page—which might contain a tutorial or other substantial library-related resource maintained by the author—after the page is first reviewed and approved by the Committee. However, personal Web sites may be posted at any time without review or approval of the Committee on the following campus Web site: http://www.uark.edu/campus/People/HomePages/ (Personal Web pages are not and will not be listed in the library Personnel Directory.) Although members of the Web Development Committee
cannot provide extensive assistance with personal Web pages, those
on the Committee who have knowledge and expertise in creating personal
Web pages would be happy to consult with authors as requested. Web
development software used to create personal Web pages is not provided
by the Libraries.
